Biography

Sophie has spent her career working with premium consumer brands that also have high aspirations as employer brands: Mars Confectionery, The Walt Disney Company and most recently LEGO Group. At LEGO Group she led the transformation of LEGO’s customer service from average to the world-class, award-winning experience that it is today.

In 2014 whilst at LEGO Group, she was asked to focus fully on the employee experience, taking on a newly created role as Senior Director of Workplace Strategy. Sophie led projects to define LEGO Group’s new way of working, focusing on better, faster ways for employees to make decisions, identify solutions, develop ideas and generally have more effective and productive interactions in a rapidly growing company. This resulted in Activity Based Working, now implemented in the London and Singapore offices, which combined improvements in online collaboration (tools and techniques), inspiring physical work environments and behavioural change interventions to create the best possible work experience.

A certified LEGO Serious Play® facilitator, she often gets people to literally build the change they want to see. Her pragmatic approach to addressing resistors balances humanist values with commercial realism and can be broadly summed up as ‘Zero Tolerance, 100% Compassion’.

Sophie is a passionate speaker on the culture at LEGO and making workplaces more productive through culture change.
