How do you stay strong when things don’t go as you plan? As CEO of Countrywide, the UK’s leading listed residential and commercial property business, Alison led a customer focused change programme. She talks candidly about the challenges she faced and about paying the ultimate cost. Five years on she talks about how to survive – and thrive.
More recently having moved into the board room, Alison has been party to the transformation of the world’s third largest retailer Tesco and its strategy through the Covid-19 crisis. Working closely with the boards and CEO’s she is involved with, she continues to bring her exceptional leadership perspectives to the fore.
Prior to her time at Countrywide, Alison spent over twenty years in healthcare and financial services with Bupa and was previously the Chair of ‘Opportunity Now’ which seeks to accelerate change for women in the workplace. She was a non executive director for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 2005 and 2010. In 2011 she was awarded the CMG (Companion to St Michael and St George) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to the foreign office.
