Drew is an exceptionally accomplished leader and one of the UK’s most influential leadership authorities who’s worked with top leaders in in education, the Police, the National Health Service, elite sport and international businesses. He is particularly well known for his track record in leadership in education.
As a highly skilled and experienced executive leader, Drew’s programmes for organisational improvement, development and growth have received phenomenal feedback by a range of leaders from various sectors.
Drew started his career as a classroom teacher, winning the prestigious ‘Teacher of the Year’ award, recognising him as an outstanding classroom practitioner with a focus on behaviour management. He then went on to be Executive Headteacher at Harrop Fold School where he worked on a programme of school improvement and mentoring with other Headteachers. In 2001, Harrop Fold School was regarded as one of the worst performing schools in the UK. Since his appointment into a senior role in 2005 and then Head teacher in 2010, up until his departure in September 2018, Drew and the other members of ‘Team Harrop’ successfully raised the exam results to the best in the school’s history, an Ofsted rating from Special Measures to Good, and improving the attitudes and behaviour of students, all of which was key to the school’s improvement – all achieved against the backdrop of what was the country’s largest school budget deficit.
The school became nationally renowned through the BAFTA award winning hit TV series Educating Greater Manchester.
He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management (FILM). In recognition for his work with children, young people and families Drew was invited to Buckingham Palace.
