Biography

As Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Society, Kate led the organisation through one of the most challenging periods in its history—the COVID‑19 pandemic—while driving forward a radical new strategy that puts her customers, people affected by dementia, at its heart. Under her leadership, the Society has influenced national policy, increased profit and financial stability and delivered groundbreaking research investments, ensuring support reaches thousands who need it most.

Kate is passionate about creating powerful, inclusive cultures that are results focused and has demonstrated how leaders can achieve both, without losing themselves in the process. She is known for speaking with raw honesty, weaving together powerful stories and strategic insights that resonate with audiences from CEO, policymakers to frontline staff.

Before Alzheimer’s Society, Kate spent over a decade reshaping the charity landscape:

• At Young Lives vs Cancer (CLIC Sargent), she doubled income, rebranded the organisation, and spearheaded a £15 million corporate partnership, while fighting—and winning—for government-funded funerals for children under 18.
• At Myton Hospice, she strengthened vital palliative care services while amplifying their voice on the national stage.
• At British Red Cross, she rose through the ranks to Director of Strategy, shaping both UK and international humanitarian response.

Kate has received numerous recognitions that include:

• Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) – awarded in 2024 for services to charity.
• Charity Times CEO of the Year – honoured twice for her transformational leadership and innovation.
